📖 Splinter was here.
Sir Hugo made me clean the fingerprints off afterwards.
The Story
The royal golden harp has disappeared into Scallywags Wood just days before Queen Melissa expects to hear its beautiful music.
All that remains is a sorry-looking pile of firewood — and four very worried friends.
With encouragement from Forebear, Mozart Bear, Connie, Johnie and Sid set to work. What they build is lumpy, crooked and certainly not the shining golden harp the Queen had imagined.
But when the first notes ring out, something extraordinary happens.
The Scallywags and the Firewood Harp is a gentle story about friendship, teamwork, making amends and discovering that something wonderful does not always have to look perfect.

Welcome to the village of Little Compton in the Kingdom of Bearhaven.

🍪 Something smells suspicious…
A biscuit. There WAS a biscuit here. A very good one. It is gone now. I am not saying where it went. I am saying it went somewhere safe and warm and it is being looked after extremely well. *pause* Okay it was delicious. I regret nothing. BUT — since you found this, you are clearly very clever indeed. Splinter-level clever, in fact, and that is the highest compliment I give. There are more secrets hidden around this site. Some have socks. Some have crowns. Some have very important confessions. You only need to know where to look. 👀 Good luck, brave explorer. 😼
Little Compton lies in the Kingdom of Bearhaven, between the palace, the farm and Scallywags Wood. It is usually a quiet village — although strange things have a habit of happening whenever the Scallywags are nearby.
Meet the Musician Friends
Four unlikely musicians, one missing harp, and a village that will never sound the same again.
Mozart Bear — Composer, conductor and leader of the friends, usually found waving his baton and keeping everyone roughly on course.
Connie Bear — Adventurous, curious and the harpist of the group. Connie believes there may be music hiding almost anywhere.
Johnie Badger — Organiser and cello player, dependable when plans need making and friends need keeping together.
Sid Hedgehog — Violinist, weather watcher and accomplished worrier, particularly when clouds — or Scallywags
Splinter — is the youngest Scallywag of Scallywags Wood — a twig-sized bundle of curiosity with a talent for appearing exactly where he shouldn’t.
He collects buttons, feathers, keys, biscuits, socks and anything else that might become useful in a future emergency.
He would like it formally recorded that he does not steal things.
He merely looks after them.
