Splinter’s Corner

Splinters Lost Property  Store

Hello I am Splinter and I am Junior Mischief Editor at High Dene Publishing. I insisted I had my own page and its from here I roam over the rest of the site correcting, helping and borrowing.

More importantly you will find me in the Little Compton books and I am auditioning for a part in the Sir Hugo books. (don’t tell him!)

This is where you will find my treasures and things I have found and I am looking after until somebody needs them. From time to time there will be my observations on things and puzzles when I make them. There will also be colouring pages after I help the team to draw them. I sometimes lose things on other pages you can help me find them… it would make you very clever!

Splinter — Frequently Asked Questions(Answered by Splinter himself, mostly.)

  1. Who is Splinter?

👑 Something very important is being kept safe in here…

“Oh. A crown.

Yes. That is Queen Melissa’s crown.

I found it. It was just… sitting there. Looking lonely.

I am looking after it. This is NOT stealing. I have made a label and everything.

Do NOT tell Sir Hugo. He will make a whole thing out of it and write at least four official notices and possibly a report.

If Queen Melissa asks, you never saw this.

…You’re very good at keeping secrets, aren’t you? I can tell.

😼”

I have a logo

I hope you like my new logo which can be a badge too, it shows how important I am to High Dene (Sir Hugo hasn’t got one! And he thinks he’s important!)

⭐ Wait. Are you the one who found ALL of them?

What. You actually did it?

You found every single one of my secret stashes. Every biscuit crumb. Every sock. Every sparkly thing I definitely did not steal.

That means you discovered:
• The emergency biscuit stash (for critical nibbling situations)
• The runaway socks stash (they said they were bored of the wash basket)
• The borrowed crown stash (Queen Melissa's, very shiny, very important, extremely borrowed)
• Sir Hugo's missing slipper stash (it squeaked when I walked in it, so obviously I had to keep it) 🥿

If you've found all of those, then I officially declare you an Official Finder of All Splinter's Secrets. That's not just a title. That's a very serious honour. I don't give it to just anyone, you know.

This makes you one of the cleverest people on the whole site. Possibly the universe. Definitely cleverer than Sir Hugo when he's looking for his glasses and they're on his head.

One very important thing though: you must not, under any circumstances, tell Sir Hugo I've been hiding things everywhere. He will use the word "unacceptable" and make a chart. Nobody wants that.

Right. That's enough being impressed for one day. Off you go, Secret Finder.

Signed,
Splinter, Junior Mischief Editor (and extremely proud of you)
